Geometrorail is a solution aimed at addressing some of the issues faced by south african commuters who rely on metrorail transport services.

The state of the art application allows commuters to, view the real time location of trains, schedule trips, manage commuting time, receive updates and most importantly, it guides new commuters around the metrorail network.

Affordable Taxi service For Metrorail Commuters

Geo Local Taxi is an affordable local taxi service that will operate on a daily basis at selected stations, depending on available local taxis operating around a particular station.
This feature is aimed at increasing safety of commuters when they arrive late at their destination station due to train delays resulting from metrorail, or when they arrive late at their destination.
There are three different ways in which you can finance your GeoTaxiWallet without spending money from your pocket.

Watch our video adverts

To unlock video adverts you'll have to use Geometrorail app everyday for at least one week, once you've unlocked the video ads watch them when you have enough data or connected to free wifi and start earning per video that you viewed.

Club card rewards

Commuters can use their club card points on the Geometrorail local taxi service

Third party Contribution

Note: this is not compulsory for the mentioned organizations, it's only the spirit of "GIVING" within them to fund this feature.
Geometrorail will negotiate on behalf of you and feedback will be given regularly

Frequently Asked Questions

Is geometrorail from PRASA/Metrorail?

No.

Geometrorail is not part of Metrorail, for any queries that concern Metrorail youl'll have to contact them directly.
Geometrorail is mainly focused on providing train locations within metrorail network.

Is Geometrorail data 100% accurate?

85 to 95% accurate

Geometrorail relies on network coverage around the current location of the train, therefore accuracy can be expected to be around 85% to 95% or +/- 10 minutes accurate. We advise commuters to be at least 10 to 15 minutes early in relation to the train they are tracking.

Is Geometrorail free to use?

Yes.

You don't have to pay anything from downloading to using the app. all you need is your data to get most accurate data from the app.

Can train information go wrong?

That's less likely to happen but it can!

To give you a simple example, network signals can be jammed around the current location of the train for some reason that we don't know, which can affect the data packets returned by our trackers.

Is GeoTaxiRide affordable?

Yes.

GeoTaxiRide is not directly funded from your pocket, instead we make it possible for you to fund it from your shopping points that you get from various shops that can partner with us and other third party contributions including rewards given by Geometrorail.

Is GeoTaxiRide going to be available in every station?

Most likely.

GeoTaxiRide relies on local taxis that are registered with us, therefore if your station doesn't have local taxis nearby, it will take a fortune for us to schedule one.
Note GeoTaxi operations are managed by taxi owners.

How do I make a payment to a GeoTaxi driver?

There are various ways you can make a payment:

Firstly you'll have to request a taxi through our app, where availability relies on available taxis heading to your section
Once you get one that you're comfortable with, you can acknowledge the driver through our app and make a payment
